Game 3 – Prey!

The forces of Ultramar pursued the Night Lords across the plains and into the outskirts of a manufactorum and saw themselves quickly become the hunted as warriors, in midnight clad, sprung a carefully laid trap. A desperate battle ensued that saw significant casualties on both sides to the point where Rhino APCs on both sides engaged, hurling their immense bulk against one another. Loyalist dreadnaughts were hurled from orbit to help decimate the back lines but they were brutally cut down by a pair of Kratos battle tanks and all but nothing survived their fury.

Meanwhile a force of Salamanders and Raven Guard mustered and awaited emergency transports to the combat site to relieve their loyalist comrades when their communications were decimated through screeching and wailing through the vox.

They were instantly set upon by the garrisoned Tercios of the Solar Auxillia who approached with a combined force of heavy and superheavy armour as well as air transports. Such was the madness of the assault that weaponless air transports hurled themselves into the guns of Sicarans, the defensive fire destroying most of their numbers in the air sending them into the ground.

The newly turned traitor auxillia were decimated, but they prevented the relief force from reaching the stranded Ultramarines which sealed their fate.

Campaign Progress

Battle 3 saw one win each for the traitors and the loyalists. To split the tiebreak, the cycle 1 tie breaker clause was used and the side with the active victory boon lost the round. This resulted in a Loyalist victory.

In this round the Traitors used the victory boon – High Morale. This Boon will not be available again for either side in this cycle.
